Josip Dragnić is Croatian guitarist, professor and event organizer. He was born in Split in 1980 and has more than twenty years experience as a musician. He has played across Croatia and abroad (Italy, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and Bosnia and Herzegovina) as a soloist and as a member of chamber music formations and orchestras and has been a guest in various TV and radio shows on Croatian National Television and Croatian National Radio. Josip received his musical education in the Music school Josip Hatze in Split, at the Academy of Arts in Split and at the Hochschule für Musik in Nuernberg (Germany), where he received a master degree in guitar in the class of world's renowed professor and guitarist Franz Halasz. He has also attended masterclasses and had individual lessons with world's most famous classical guitarists: Costas Cotsiolis, Aniello Desiderio, Marcin Dylla, Zoran Dukić, Ricardo Gallen, Hubert Kappel, Carlo Marchione, David Russell, Pavel Steidl, Scott Tennant and Fabio Zanon. Josip has won various prizes at national and international competitions as a soloist and as a member of chamber music formations. Since 2004 he performs in Croatia and abroad with the flutist Mila Lapov (Duo Allegro) and since 2010 with Split guitar quartet, which he founded. In 2004 Josip has graduated at Split Faculty of Science and became a professor of mathematics and informatics science. He is a founder of Association MAG, organizer and artistic director of Chamber Music Festival and Classical Guitar Days in Split. Josip has been working as a guitar professor in several Music schools in Croatia since 2003 and during that period his students have won many prizes at national as well as international competitions in Croatia, Italy, Germany, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since October 2013 Josip lives in Luxembourg where he maintains a very intensive concert and teaching activity.
